Kevin offers a variety of interactive programming with an emphasis on FUN.
He has worked in classrooms, on stages, and under Big Tops across the country, and has entertained and educated audiences of all ages.

 

BUGGIN’ with Campfire Kev  Created for the 2008 CSLP theme, “Catch the Reading Bug”, BUGGIN’ includes classic bug-related sing alongs, bug magic, a sprinkling of science, and great stories from Aesop, Native America, and Africa.  And, if I can figure out how to play the guitar while wearing the costume, I’m considering doing the whole show dressed as a giant cockroach!!

 

The Spirit of the Games: a look into the Olympics  Created for the Chicago Public Library's 2004 summer reading program, this show engages young people in a fun and non-judgmental fashion with a variety of mental and physical challenges, as well as provides some entertaining and little-known facts about the longest running celebration of sport in the history of the world.

 

Once Upon a Time Written for the 2005 Collaborative Summer Library Program, Dragons, Dreams, and Daring Deeds, this show takes audiences on a magical quest that spans 3 continents and thousands of years.  Marvel at legends of giants, dragons, and kings as Kev uncovers the magic available in books, and learn a few things about the wonders of the world along the way.  Lots of magic tricks, music, and merriment add to the fun.

 

Splish, Splash, Read! Written for the New York State’s 2004 summer reading theme of the same name, Splish, Splash, Read! gives audiences a chance to meet Dr. Nautilus Read, a scientist from an underwater society who has come to the surface for the first time in search of the greatest treasure known to his people:  books. Includes water mythology from around the world, traditional sea shanties, water science, and magic.

 

Music, Magic, and Mayhem In this extravaganza of all-out entertainment, Kevin creates an intimate, festive atmosphere as he glides between silly stories, original songs, and impromptu magic. This show is a favorite of library summer reading programs, and can be adapted to fit most themes!

 

Animal Antics Written for the 2006 Collaborative Summer Library Program, Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales, Animal Antics includes a collection of animal stories from around the world, featuring a handful of Aesop’s fables, native American and African folk tales.  Learn how to make animal sounds in other languages, and sing along to original music from Kev’s new CD, The Pet Project.

 

I Spy Written in 2004 for libraries in Crawfordsville and Aurora, Indiana, I SPY is perfect for the 2006 CSLP theme, Get a Clue, or for anyone who loves a mystery.  Crack codes, learn a secret handshake, and try to see past Kev's silly disguises as he leads audiences on a mysterious mission of delightful discovery!  Includes music, magic, and LOTS of audience interaction.

 

It’s a Mystery!  Building on the success of the I Spy Program, It’s a Mystery is designed for a slightly older audience.  Learn about creating a mystery through setting, character and plot.  Practice your problem solving skills with a 2 minute mystery, then become part of the action.  Work together to choose the mystery to be solved, and, then, become suspects in the crime!  Awesome interactive fun.

 

Big Style on the Nile Created for the Chicago Public Library’s 2006 summer reading program, this show digs deep into the history of one of the world’s greatest civilizations.  Did you know the Egyptians were one of the first cultures to use eyeliner and hair dye, and that citizens held jobs like brain puller and royal toilet guard?  Laugh and learn as you uncover the past through story, science, and song.

 

Wild Blue Yonder Did you know Chinese soldiers were were flying on kites thousands of years ago? From the drawings of DaVinci to the balloons of the Montgolfier brothers to the 100th anniversary of the Wright brothers' first flights, Wild Blue Yonder is a celebration of dreams that includes super stories, silly songs, and stunning science.

'Round the Globe Take a trip around the globe through ancient folk tales and mythic adventures. Participate in a Japanese Tea Ceremony, learn to play the didgeridoo, and more. This show can be adapted to a specific world region. 

 

America's Epic Adventure Unfold the rich tapestry of our great nation through story and song as you marvel at the deeds of the brave men and women that made America what it is today. Includes traditional folk and patriotic songs.

 

Fireside Fun  Cozy up to the campfire in this outdoor-themed offering. In addition to classic campfire favorites, Kev includes his most-requested original songs, as well as silly and spooky stories, interesting outdoor science, and fun facts about living in harmony with the land.

 

Clowning Around with Kevin Holladay Join the circus for an hour in this fast paced, interactive romp through the world of clowning. Participate in the creation of all new clown characters, and get on stage as part of a mini clown circus.  Includes juggling, plate spinning, and other circus-style acts.


One World Take a closer look at our fragile environment, and the ways people all over the world are fighting to protect it. Includes hands-on science, and true stories of superhero kids that are saving the planet! Perfect for Earth Day.

Dealings with Feelings  Amaze as Kevin and his partner play 7 different characters in this hilarious show with a serious message. Introduces audiences to problem solving techniques like active listening, compromise, and mediation.


Hibernation Hop  Did you know that bears don’t really hibernate, and that some animals can slow their heart rate to 7 beats per minute?  Discover the differences between hibernation, dormancy, adaptation, and migration through story, song, and scientific experimentation as Campfire Kev presents this entertaining program in his pajamas!


Celebration Laugh and learn as you uncover the origins of our December holidays, and open your eyes to other unique celebrations from around the planet. Can be adapted to any season.


Acting Up  Delight as Kevin weaves in and out of characters from both the classics and his own plays. Discover what it takes to be an actor. Help create a new play, and perform it ON THE SPOT.
